Hello I start with my new kit now. But after boot (Qtopia is installed) touch panel don't work. When i connect usb mouse, cursor is moving ok, but touch screen is "dead". What can i check ? And second (small) problem. LCD backlight is a little bit "flickering" - it look like fast PWM modulation on backlight for example. But - settings of backlight level in setting menu don't change anything.
I don't have any experience with Qtopia, but here is my experience with WinCE: The touch panel isn't calibrated after clean install. Only 3.5 LCD is calibrated. User mouse to go to calibration app and recalibrate screen. I sometimes see the flickering in WinCE too. It sometimes looks like a black band rolling across screen very quickly. Have not been able to pinout problem. Seems to be bugy screen init. Power off and power on a few times till it does away. Backlight level has not been implimented in hardware and/or drivers. I have investigated the required hardware changes, these seems to be moving two resistors but i have not tried. After the change the screen will be blank untill the drivers have been updated too. Well, i tried to calibrate lcd with usb mouse, but in calibration procedure
lcd must work ("please touch lcd...etc", so it does not help.
But, i also noticed, screen size is not valid - visible is only part of
desktop - it is look like scren set on, for example 8".
I try to upload windows ce for 7" lcd.
Problem solved. I was update bootloader and install windows CE 6.0, and everything works ok now. Even LCD backlight don't blink. Thanks for answers Peter
