hello guys I have a s3c2440 7 inch (VT-8500) and I wanna install linux on it because of win ce usb camera problems. I think I won't have such problems in linux. Now, the product that Im using, doesn't have any com port or usb device port and the only way that I can install linux or win ce is SD card. I have installed a win ce before by downloading the file vt-8500software.rar and taking it in SD card. the question is that is there any way to do this for linux? thanx
Can I install linux from SD card?
Try here (from the Links page on the Wiki) http://bill.station51.net/
Elia, Yes you are correct. usb camera is working fine in my case with mjpg-streamer. I hv also modified some plugins for my use. I am very satisfied with mjpg-streamer and the camera. Installing linux on SDCARD is very simple. 1. get and copy proper u-boot into flash. 2. prepare sd card with kernel and file system (if u want, i can give u my kernel, so u need not build it) 3. set and save some u-boot environment variables which will load kernel from sd card. If interested, i will send u detailed steps. Regards, Kailas
thank u Kailas, I've just found a link an d download it and I did every steps but I does not boot from sd. thanx

Hello, I know this is an old post. But this is a question for Elia. I am trying to install winCe on my netbook and I can't find the software vt-8500software.rar on the links out there on the net. If you still have this file, could you please upload it to mediafire so I can download it? I'd greately appreciate it! Carlos
