1024x768 on a NanoPi-M1 Debian

Mirko Ortensi
Hi,

I just installed Debian on my NanoPi-M1 downloaded from
http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/nanopim1/download/

on a NanoPi-M1, but I realize I do not manage to set resolution to
1024x768.

How can I configure it to get such a resolution?

Thanks a lot in advance

Maybe this helps. I haven't used a M1.

I see there is a section on HDMI resolution on the Wiki page, but the
examples look like quite low resolutions.

I think there was some comment on their new forum about higher resolutions.

Thanks Dave,

but if I understand right, this specific resolution must be supported by
the kernel, firstly.

And it seems like it isn't, actually we discovered some tutorial to set
this up (not the very NanoPi Debian, though), like here
http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1707

We wonder why 1024x768 resolution is not supported.

FA don't seem to be targeting their product at the TV box market, so maybe
they just haven't bothered to explore the possibilities. Maybe the process
to enable higher resolutions is closed source. Seems many other makers
have this issue.

The page you linked to looks like a good evenings work!

The one thing I would suggest is to try to find some Chinese forums. There
must be a much more active group somewhere. Have you searched
https://linux-sunxi.org/Main_Page

Good luck.
