Hi, I'm interested in using the NanoPi2 for an upcoming embedded project, and would like to know whether upstream (e.g. 4.3+) Linux kernel support is present / planned. My prioriy would be to have working uboot, SD card access, micro-USB gadget and wifi (AP6212, possibly supported by http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/brcm80211/) Graphics support is not needed, so I'll gladly go without any binary graphics drivers. Has anyone tried an upstream kernel on the NanoPi2, or would I be better off going with C.H.I.P from Next Thing Co.?
Mainline Linux kernel on the NanoPi2
According to https://linux-sunxi.org/Wifi#Ampak_Devices , Wifi should be supported by the brcmfmac module in the mainline kernel. I guess I'll try my luck and see what I can get working.
I'm also going to be trying to get my NanoPi2 up to mainline soon. I'd be keen to hear how you get on.
I'm also waiting for mainline kernel delivery for S5P4418, although it's hardware reference manual seem to be less information such as Jtag core sight... I want to have a S54418 board which has JTAG debug for developing firmware, RTOS porting ...
