Hi, Though the Mini2440 board had seemed to be quite useful, I am finding couple of difficulties getting familiar with it. First of all the "create partition" command is displaying a lot of bad blocks. This is a fresh board and I had atleast 50 bad block logs. (log attached) Is this normal? The LCD test in 2440Test was not displaying anything. What may be the reason? The manual that was shipped to me was for BIOS I though the BIOS in my board was version 2.0. The WinCE install instructions appearing there were not working. Anyway after getting the correct sequence of steps the OS seems to have been loaded but no display comes up. Any ideas? All in all I am pretty frustrated with the board that got shipped to me from a company called Rhydolabz in india. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Shantanu
Lot of bad blocks and other issues
It seems that many of the problems are due to improper documentation. For the 2440 test I had used the 2440test_L35.bin but when I now used the the 2440test_T35.bin it got resolved. For the CE the same thing applies. I had to use the T35 suffix of the binary images. ie : nboot_t35.bin and nk_T35_english.bin However the bad block question still remains.
What size of NAND flash? Some so-called bad blocks are actually reserved blocks. I have 4 of them in a 64M device. Maybe, when everybody knows what your flash size is someone could advise you in more detail. A search for <bad blocks NAND> on Wikipedia will be informative.
hi, i have purchased the board from a thailand supplier and i am also having the same problem . My nand flash size is 128mb. according to the supplier it is not unusual. kindly confirm , is it normal?
My company imported 10 nos mini2440 from china, and we also got lot of bad blocks in all boards .I think it is common. Normally , the os will take care of it by creating Bad block table ,and we did not faced any problem with it.
