My Nanopc-t1 can't play 720p vids smoothly let alone 1080p

I'm using android 5.0.2. I've tried using Kodi and MXplayer. 

Am I missing something?

Same problem with VLC , I tried also with Android 4.2 and Ubuntu, but
nothing.
The hardware should be sufficient to play a video in Full HD , I think it's
a problem of software optimisation unfortunately :(
