I wanted to try using the DNW software to send codes to my board in order to avoid the hectic usage of USB pen drives for the same. So I opened the dnw.exe file, connected the board to the computer using a serial cable and a USB cable, booted the board in the NOR mode and then pressed "connect". It said on the menu bar : [COM1 :115200bps][USB:OK][ADDR:0x30000000] The speed and the addresses were set according to the manual that I have for FriendlyARM mini2440. After pressing refresh button on the board however, nothing happened. I was expecting the dnw menu to appear with options like [1] Download WinCE boot logo [w] Download WinCE NK.bin and so on. What could be the problem here? Thanks! Regards
Problems with DNW
Also, I forgot to ask, in case I don't want to use DNW, is it possible to dump zImage of the kernel on the board via another way, say, USB? I want to access some pins on the board and in order to do that I had to configure the kernel for supporting those pins. Thanks!
Hello Samyukta, DNW works with only supervivi. Nowadays, FA ships mini2440(may be others too) with Superboot (Closed Source boot-loader) on NOR. This new boot-loader enables Mini2440 setup via SD card and USB (using tool called minitools). "Very Simple and Very Fast." I am beginner. Correct me if i am wrong.
