CAM130 with Mini210s fails on Linux, while it worsk on Android

David P
Dear All,

On my new Mini210s fitted with a CAM130 camera I am not able to use the
camera while in Linux. Launching the default camera application fails with
an error code of 11. Note that I am away from the system at the time, so I
can only provide more data on Monday (exact versions, error messages).

Is anyone aware of such issue? The camera works nicely on Android, but it
doesn't on Linux. I am using the preinstalled Android image while the Linux
one I downloaded from FriendlyArm on 30.05.2013.

All I can suggest doing right now is checking the console out for errors.

David P
Alright, when starting the CMOS Camera application I see these lines on the
console:

[ 88.164584] ov9650 0-0030: ov9652 Product ID 96:52 Manufacturer ID 7f:a2
[ 88.164654] ov9650 0-0030: ov9650 has been probed
[ 88.167888] ov9650: power ON
[ 88.167924] ov9650 0-0030: ov9650_init: camera initialization start
[ 88.195930] ov9650_s_ctrl: dc5b1408 ... ID=08000040 value=1
[ 88.675612] ov9650: power Off

While the app says "CMOS Camera was terminated due to application
error(11)".

Also:

[root@FriendlyARM /]# uname -a
Linux FriendlyARM 3.0.8-FriendlyARM #1 PREEMPT Tue Oct 30 10:33:04 CST 2012
armv7l GNU/Linux

USB Camera application says it cannot open device /dev/video3
and
Camera applications just shows "No camera"

Do you have any suggestion? Is there any way to get more data about the
error? Maybe load the ov9650 module with a verbose flag?

Thank you.
