Tiny6410 keyboard

dear all 
I am new in friendly arm .  i want to build a smal project (text editer)
which get an input from standard keyboard and  display it in the screan 
i want to know which i will need to compleitly setup the keyboard ( drivers
,software..etc  ) also i will use an external fuction key it will be
connected   through the GPIO

Any USB keyboard should be automatically recognized and work correctly.

DO you mean you want to you a keypad matrix? There is a header for that.
