Hello, I have a mini6410 with the 7" LCD. I installed Debian on it: Look here: http://code.google.com/p/mini6410-debian/wiki/Tutorial I installed xorg and xfce4 with abt-get install xfce4, slim. On bootup the Linux penguin is on the display but then the lcd is switch to bright white. I can login via ssh or the seriel console and see that x is runnig on tty7. Can someone give me a tip what is wrong her and why the display only is bright white? I think only the backlight is to much, but how can I turn of or dim the backlight? I try: root@mini6410:/sys/devices/platform/s3c-fb# echo 0 > backlight_level and root@mini6410:/sys/devices/platform/s3c-fb# echo 0 > backlight_power but with no result. Any hints? Thanks
No X on the 7" LCD with Debian
Hi, It sounds like you did not configure the proper LCD type. Do you have a S70 or A70 (I think the S70 is only 800x480 and the A70 is 1024x???). I have the S70 (white unit) and you need to use the proper files for it, same for the memory, but since you can remote login then it must be the screen setup.
I reinstalled Ubuntu from the other DVD (Mini6410B-20111022.iso). This is runnig und the LCD work fine.... until the Ethernet is activated:-( In this moment the Ethernet is activated, the LCD gets into the bright white. I set up the network in the rc.local and I ping the Mini from my pc. The lcd is normal working just to that moment the networkcard in the mini is working. I tried in several times. Every time, the ping is working, the lcd becomes white. And the Ubuntu is out of date and I am not able to install new software. Which Linux is running on the mini and I can get a working java installation (1.6 is recuired). I had not found an Ubuntu after Karamic Coala:-( apt-get does not working in case of 404-Errors:-( So the Mini does not work for my with ubuntu. I need the lcd and java, (and an SQL Database. MySQL or Postgresql is also required)
