I've managed to inadvertently wipe the NAND flash on a mini6410, including u-boot. I haven't been able to find much information about how to go about restoring it. Can a mini6410 still be booted from the SD card slot in this state? If not, what's the procedure for restoring u-boot to the NAND via JTAG? I've been fiddling with OpenOCD and the parallel port adapter a bit but haven't been able to get JTAG communications going yet. Thanks, Andrew
restoring mini6410 bootloader via JTAG or sd card?
Use SD-Flasher(Include into the DVD) and flash SuperBoot in the SD then plug the SD to the board and change the switch from NAND to SDBOOT. Connect the board to the PC using a serial cable. Open DNW(Included into the DVD) configure it(Port to use) and power on the board. If all ok you will see the menu of Superboot, in that menu you can upload all necesary to restore the board(U-boot, Kernel and root file system.). to upload the files from PC to the board, you need a USB cable(Included with the board) Bye. PS: Sorry for my bad english :)
Can anyone tell me about suitable JTAG which could be used with Mini 6410 & Mini 2440. Kindly provide me with link where I can purchase it from. I am from Bangalore, India.
A "wiggler" style 10 pin JTAG will work. Most sellers include a wiggler/parallel port adapter with the cables and PSU. There is a JTAG utility for restoring the NOR included on the DVD. I have not seen anyone need JTAG on these systems in at least two years.
