I am looking into connecting a LP101wsa TLA1 LED display to the mini2440 the interface is a LVDS and not the TFT of the mini. I think the SN75lvds83 chip may help with this . I am looking for a more exact pinout of the tft lcd interface, specifically what pins drive which RGB channels. I have a separate touch screen that I will also try to hook up. Any suggestions will help.
Hooking up a LVDS LCD
Hey, The easiest place to find the lcd interface info is in the circuit diagram for the 3.5" lcd on the downloads page. LCD_VD0 - LCD_VD7 => Blue0 - Blue7 LCD_VD8 - LCD_VD15 => Green0 - Green7 LCD_VD16 - LCD_VD23 => Red0 - Red7 I see that the datasheet for the SN75lvds83 contains a channel mapping. You might want to verify that the LCD is happy with that mapping... Thanks, Errol
I'm still on the learning curve and am delving deeper as I go along. The more info the merrier. Here is the datasheet on the chip.
I had a quick look at the datasheet yesterday. The main thing, if i rmemeber correctly, is that the LVDS pairs' tracks must all be the same length and impedance matched to 100 ohm. The LVDS runs at 200MHz or more, and 5mm can cause a phase shift. The TFT lines must be more or less the same length, but i don't think it is quite so sensitive as the LVDS. You will also have to change the WinCE or Linux files to match the timing of your LCD...
I ordered some ends and a proto board for the chip. I'm just waiting for now. I have the LVDS cable for the display and am going to need a steady hand when making the connections.
Hello Grefftech, I am using Sharp 12.1" Display lq121s1lg75 (LVDS,800x600 Resolution) with mini2440. Kindly guide me if you have done it successfully.
