Thank you for your answer.

I know it this JVM is for JavaME. I want to run JavaSE Project on Mini2440
Linux. is it possible?

azzido
Yes. You can JavaSE but 1.4 version is required.

Here is translated in english a tutorial about How install JVM on Mini2440
runs on Linux:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=ro&ie=UTF-8&sl=zh-CN&am...

When you must to make a binary try this command:

make CVM_INCLUDE_COMMCONNECTION=true J2ME_CLASSLIB=foundation

for more classes.

JVM is from https://phoneme.dev.java.net

You may be better sticking to the Android version,

Yes it is not exactly java , but the issue you are going to have is with
setting up the graphics under java, it can become very "wordy"
That is to say >70% of the code space is generally destined to getting
graphics in place.
your next issue is that the java system is memory intensive.

if you ever load "java" into linux even with version 1.4 you can easily eat
up 20-40mb of ram.
So you are going to need a slim version.

You can try with jamvm and gnuclasspath i have it up and running, even got
apache tomcat to run. Good luck

Hi,

I'm having trouble with cross compiling JamVM on Ubuntu 10.4.
I used the compiler that comes with the Mini2440 DVD.
Can you post the steps to compile and install JamVM?

Thanks

I got Java Virtual Machine working with Qtopia 2.2.0 linux. Used this
tutorial, it's not that hard to follow. If you have problems regarding to
this how-to, i can try to help.

http://translate.google.de/translate?hl=de&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=...

Other than that i have a problem. With this JVM there are only some io,
util libraries are builtin. I need to create GUI (may be swing) with java,
is it possible to add the libraries i want to this phoneme thing? Anyone
can help about it?

widyo
It is possible to run javaSE on mini2440. Once i've had it on my mini2440.
I got mini2440 with 64Mb nand, so i mount(bind mount) my mmc card at
/usr/lib/jvm to add more storage.

Since it was not quite good performance with java on my system, then i
removed it --my howto documentation also :(.

Can't really help, just want to say that it is POSSIBLE to have JavaSE on
your mini2440.

cheers,

sanjeev
